Introduction
Narrow strip drain series prefabricated drains are engineered with a robust, high-flow polyethylene core fully enclosed in a geotextile filter fabric. The fabric includes a securely stitched seam that effectively prevents soil from entering the flow channels, while allowing water to infiltrate freely from all directions.
Featuring an optimized void structure for efficient water collection, these drains provide a cost-effective, sustainable, and high-performance alternative to conventional perforated pipe and stone drainage systems.

Features/Equipment characteristics
Product Structure
The narrow strip drain is an engineered geospacer composed of a sturdy, molded polyethylene core. This core is fully encapsulated within a heat-bonded geotextile fabric, forming a unified and durable drainage element.
Key Function
This product acts as a high-performance replacement for traditional drain pipe and stone systems. It is specifically designed to collect and convey subsurface water with superior efficiency.
Performance Advantage
As a cost-effective and precision-engineered solution, it is highly effective at managing subsurface water infiltration, handling flow from both primary and secondary directions with reliability.
Narrow strip drain installation guide
Excavate a narrow trench 50mm-100mm in width using a standard trenching machine. The trench depth should exceed the drain height by 75mm (e.g., 225mm deep for a 150mm tall strip drain).
Position the strip drain vertically against the trench sidewall. The backfill material depends on the drainage application:
For Combined Subsurface & Surface Water Collection: Backfill with sand or drainage aggregate, then compact.
For Primary Subsurface Drainage: Backfill with native soil, then compact.
In all cases, ensure a minimum of 75mm of backfill material covers the top of the drain to protect it from UV degradation, aerators, and other landscape equipment.
Strip drains can be connected using either of the following methods:
A. Direct Interlocking Method
Peel back the geotextile fabric on both ends to be connected, exposing the first two rows of dimples.
Securely interlock the exposed dimples by pressing them together. A rubber mallet may be used to gently tap the connection into place if necessary.
Overlap the loosened fabric flaps over the joint and seal the seam securely with joint tape.
B. Splice Fitting Method (Available for 150mm drains)
Slide one end of a drain into each side of the splice connector.
Secure the connection by applying joint tape where the fitting and each drain meet.
