Infiltration System Installation Procedure
Excavate area to design specifications.
Level and compact excavation base.
Lay, level, and compact ≥75mm coarse sand base.
Install ≥200g/m² geotextile over base/walls:
- Maintain ≥200mm overlaps
- Seal joints with PVC adhesive tape
- Ensure surplus geotextile covers tank surfaces post-installation
Position rainwater harvesting tank underground units on geotextile.
Secure units using:
- Stainless steel clips
- Tie wire
- High-strength plastic cable ties
For additional layers:
- Stack or interlock new units onto secured base layer
Create pipe penetrations:
- Install flanged connectors at inlet/outlet positions
- Position outlet below inlet
Cover tanks with geotextile:
- Seal pipe penetrations with PVC adhesive tape
Backfill sides/top with ≥100mm clean coarse sand:
- Compact manually to engineering specs
Apply ≥400mm free-draining soil cover over sand layer per design requirements
