INSTALLATION
Step 1: Build a Stable Base
1.Prepare a Solid Sub-base: Begin by excavating the area and removing all topsoil. Compact the underlying soil thoroughly. For high-traffic areas like driveways, add and compact a 100 mm (approx. 4-inch) base layer of well-graded drainage rock, such as ¾" crushed stone.
2.Apply a Leveling Course (Optional): To achieve a perfectly flat finish, spread a 3-5 cm layer of sand over the compacted sub-base and level it accurately.
3.Install a Geotextile Membrane: Cover the entire prepared base with a non-woven geotextile fabric. This critical layer suppresses weed growth and prevents sub-base migration. Ensure all seams are generously overlapped.
Step 2: Install the Grids
1.Position and Interlock Panels: Lay the gravel grid panels over the geotextile membrane, starting from one corner. Securely connect adjacent panels using the integrated interlocking system (snap-lock or peg-and-slot design).
2.Customize the Fit: For curves or obstacles, easily cut the grids to the required shape using a standard circular saw, fine-toothed saw, or angle grinder.
3.Allow for Expansion: Maintain a minimum 2 cm gap between the perimeter of the grid system and any fixed structures (e.g., curbs, walls) to accommodate potential thermal expansion.
Step 3: Fill with Permeable Bricks
1. Infill with Bricks: Spread your chosen permeable bricks (10x10cm) evenly across the entire surface of the installed grid system.
2. Lock in the Surface: Fill the joints between the bricks with a dry mix of fine sand and soil. Finally, sweep off any excess material to reveal a clean, stable, and finished surface.
